Flashback: 1974, Homer is a ne'er-do-well high school student and Marge is a budding feminist. Homer becomes smitten with Marge and enlists her as his French tutor. Soon, Marge falls for Homer too, only to become enraged when he admits he's not even a French student and only said he was to spend time with her. Marge rejects Homer's invitation to the prom and goes with Artie Ziff. Artie turns out to be a terrible date and Marge realizes she really wants Homer.
